@sprite_tm makes sense that you'd be using an ESP32, but fwiw were you aware of RP2040 Doom? https://kilograham.github.io/rp2040-doom/
it's fairly similar to GBADoom (source port to a platform with very little RAM), but it targets perfect compatibility with PC Doom and also is already targeting a microcontroller

@leo vriska² (homestuck) :dado_verified: I was not aware of that. Tbh I started this project last year, but was too late for Christmas to get BTLE going and rather than publish it un-finished I decided to put it off. I could theoretically try to port RP2040 Doom to this as well; it should fit methinks.
