So, erm, anyone know anything about btrfs on small-memory systems?
I thought I was smart. I already rsync a fair amount of systems to my NAS as backups, so I thought: why not make the backup partition a btrfs filesystem and use those fancy snapshots to effectively get daily incremental backups? Great idea! Only, today I ran out of hard disk space so I removed a bunch of them backups... at which point something btrfs in the kernel starts stirring to ?clean up everything? and balloons and balloons until it eats up my entire 4G or RAM (it's an older embedded board playing NAS), at which point my kernel panics. Worst thing: as soon as I restart and mount the partition again, the entire thing starts up again.
Any idea what to do that doesn't involve connecting the HDs to a system with more RAM?
